Nashville Recording Artist Shane Morgan has a sound of his own with his amazing musical talent and awe inspiring stage presence. While many present day country artists are trending toward a sound much different than their roots, Shane mixes his unique voice with a traditional style. As a result, he has over 17,000 fans and growing.
Shane was born in Rochester, New York but grew up in Duluth Minnesota, a long way from Nashville, Tennessee where he now makes his home. Shane’s musical journey began at 6 years old when he started playing piano. Then by the time he was 9, he was playing violin in his school orchestra. Proving his musical talents extended to singing, he performed “I Cross My Heart” at the Central High School Pop Concert to an audience of 3500 when he was just 17 years old. It was the performance that sparked his dream of becoming a country music singer.
Another major influence on Shane’s dream of becoming of country music singer was his grandfather, Charlie, who had a band during the 1970’s and 1980’s. With his grandfather’s influence, at the age of 10 Shane taught himself to play guitar and spent many hours perfecting his style. In 1997 Shane hit the Country Music Scene and during this time, he was offered a spot on a local radio talent show and was spotlighted on the local news, where he performed a remarkable rendition of “The Cowboy Rides Away”. It is no wonder that George Strait remains his favorite country artist.
In June of 2001, Shane enlisted in the United States Air Force where he continued his passion for music and did several live performances for the troops. Later, in 2005, Shane received an honorable discharge and immediately moved to Nashville to begin his quest of becoming a country music star. Since then he has performed at several well known Nashville locations including Douglas Corner, Bluebird Café, Tootsies Orchid Lounge, Norm’s River Road House and the Nashville Palace, and was also featured at the 2009 CMA Festival, signing autographs and performing for his fans!
Shane’s most recent album, I’m Getting Gone, was released last May and continues to sell copies to new fans daily. He also continues to gain a presence in the music industry by sharing his work through online networks and Internet radio. With his purely genuine personality, strong stage presence, and musical talent, Shane Morgan is no doubt among Nashville’s top rising stars.
